Use 360-degree output only where multiple sightlines need it

A round luminous tube is useful for suspended grids, freestanding sculptures, atriums and structures visible from several sides. Against an opaque wall, part of the output may be hidden or reflected, so a conventional directional linear fixture can be more efficient for that condition.

Mock up one vertical and one diagonal member with the intended clear or milky cover, ambient light and support hardware. Review color mixing, dark end gaps and visibility from the real circulation routes before choosing RGB or RGBW and pixel pitch.

Convert the family list into one non-interchangeable project code

The page lists L-RD40, 40mm, 360°, RGB/RGBW SMD5050, DC12V/DC24V, customizable pitch, five control alternatives and four lengths. Those values form a family matrix; a tube cannot carry every voltage, color architecture and IC simultaneously.

Fewer joints reduce connection count, while shorter modules can simplify transport and local replacement.

The current evidence does not publish watts/m, LED density or the final pixels/m, so current, power-injection distance and controller capacity must not be inferred. Do not mix DMX addressing with cascade-pixel terminology

A DMX512 version is planned with addresses, channels and universes. UCS2904, UCS1903, WS2815 and SK6812 versions generally require project planning around pixel count, data direction, grouping, controller ports and mapping. The exact behavior still belongs to the ordered version.

Before programming, run channel tests on a golden tube, record RGB/RGBW order, start address or pixel index, input/output pinout and what happens downstream after one tube is removed. Custom pixel pitch must be stated numerically; the word customizable is not a control map.

Coordinate the 40mm body, end gaps and IP evidence

A 40mm tube needs clamps or suspension hardware that do not shade or crush the luminous body. End caps, cable bends and connector clearance add non-luminous length, so the structural grid cannot be dimensioned from nominal tube length alone.
