A larger globe can be easier to see at distance, but it is not automatically brighter. A smaller node can support tighter geometry, but only if the mounting hole, cable bend and service access fit. Approve the effect with a representative mock-up.

1. Diameter is not pixel pitch

**Diameter** describes the housing. **Pitch** is centre-to-centre spacing in the installed layout. A 40mm product can be installed at 100mm pitch; that does not make it a P40 system.

For a straight length `L` and target pitch `P`, a first purchasing estimate is:

`point quantity = ceil(L ÷ P)`

The final CAD point list must handle corners, endpoints, openings and irregular curves.

The subtraction only exposes crowding. Use the exact dimensional drawing before drilling or ordering a panel.

3. What can be calculated from current product evidence

26mm example

The 26mm page publishes 0.72 W per point [S1].

The 35mm page lists 1.44 W and 2.16 W but does not create a reliable version matrix between voltage, LED count and power [S2]. For 200 points, use **288–432 W** only as an early envelope:

Do not select power supplies from one assumed endpoint. Freeze a sample's voltage, LED count and measured agreed scene first.

40mm and 65mm stop gate

The current 40mm page leaves watts and IP as fields to specify [S3]. The 65mm page does not publish the voltage, watts or channel footprint in the evidence reviewed [S4]. Mark these **pending confirmation**; do not invent an electrical BOM.

Do not compare only price per point:

A smaller node at a tighter pitch may increase point count, controller outputs, connectors and drilling. A larger globe may reduce count, but can require more structural clearance and higher per-point load. Only a frozen layout and product version makes the quote comparable.

  2. Point coordinates or candidate centre pitch—not diameter alone.
  3. Total quantity by zone, including corners and spare policy.
  4. Closest and normal viewing distances.

  • Do not release 40mm or 65mm electrical quantities while watts remain unknown.
  • Do not treat node IP as proof that field connectors and enclosures are equally protected.

Does 40mm mean P40 spacing?

No. It is the housing diameter; the project drawing defines centre pitch.

How many points are needed for a 20 m outline at 100mm pitch?

The first straight-line estimate is 200 points. Corners, endpoints and openings must be finalized in CAD.

Is 65mm brighter than 26mm?

Diameter alone cannot prove brightness. Compare approved output data and a side-by-side sample.

Which option has published power data?

The reviewed 26mm page publishes 0.72 W/point. The 35mm page lists an unpaired 1.44/2.16 W range. The reviewed 40mm and 65mm evidence needs confirmation.
