47 mm or 57 mm Bumper-Car Pixel Tube? Measure the Pole First

Replacing a bumper-car light tube? Measure the pole before choosing a diameter. LIKELIGHT lists the D47 with a 32 mm inside diameter and the D57 with a 42 mm inside diameter. If the pole and its approved mounting fit the smaller tube, start by sampling D47. If that inside space is too small but the vehicle has room around the larger tube, sample D57. Neither is a drop-in replacement until the ride owner approves the finished mount and electrical change.

A two-measurement decision before the price list

First measure the outside of the existing pole or support where the tube would slide or clamp. Then measure the free space around the finished tube, including the route for its lead and any bracket. D47 is listed as 47 mm outside and 32 mm inside; D57 is 57 mm outside and 42 mm inside. Those are nominal catalogue dimensions, not mounting tolerances.

For example, a measured 35 mm pole is larger than the D47 listed bore and smaller than the D57 listed bore. That makes D57 the only one of these two worth a fit sample, provided the mount and 57 mm outside clearance can be approved. Do not treat 42 minus 35 as an automatic 7 mm installation allowance: the real end fitting, ovality and fixing method still matter.

Check the electrics as a separate decision

Both product pages describe a 12 V RGB tube with UCS1903 pixel control. A pixel is a separately controlled light segment. Matching 12 V and the chip name still does not prove that the existing controller, connector pin order or animation map will work. The listed male pin connector is the input; ask for the actual wiring drawing before connecting a sample.

Each page also mentions 60 pixels and 43.2 W per tube, while listing several lengths from 0.5 to 2 m. The pages do not pair each length with those electrical figures. Request the chosen length’s confirmed pixel count and loaded power before sizing a fleet supply or controller. Do not calculate a complete system from a per-tube figure of uncertain length.

Approve one finished tube on the actual vehicle

Send a pole photo, its measured diameter, the available outer clearance, desired illuminated length and the current 12 V supply/controller details. Ask LIKELIGHT for the exact D47 or D57 version, bore and end-cap drawing, bracket and cable exit, connector pinout and one representative finished sample. Compare the sample with the vehicle while stationary under the ride operator’s approved procedure.

A passing sample means more than a tube that slips over a pole. Confirm it cannot obstruct movement, passenger access, service access or existing safety markings. The ride manufacturer or qualified responsible party must approve any modification before a fleet rollout. If neither finished assembly fits, ask for a revised mounting design rather than forcing the tube onto the car.

Questions buyers ask

Can I choose by outside diameter alone?

No. The pole bore, mounting tolerance, finished outside clearance and end fitting must all fit the vehicle.

Are D47 and D57 electrically interchangeable?

Both pages list 12 V and UCS1903, but verify the controller, connector pinout, data direction and exact ordered length by sample.

Does IP66 approve a tube for a moving ride?

No. The listed ingress wording does not approve vehicle mounting, impact exposure or a ride modification.
