Mécanisme

Galvanic corrosion requires dissimilar metals, electrical contact and an electrolyte [S2]. Review housing, bracket, fastener, connector and substrate as one material stack.

Exemple quantifié

Illustrative screen: 100 interfaces with 300mm² cathodic area and 10mm² coating damage each produce a 30:1 exposed-area ratio. This identifies inspection priority; it is not a corrosion-rate prediction.

• Salt-mist hours are comparative, not a universal service-life conversion [S1].
