1.CCFL backlight screen advantages and disadvantages

CCFL backlight screen advantages:
low cost, simple manufacturing process, mature technology.
CCFL backlight screen disadvantages:
short life (aging fast), low luminous efficiency (power consumption), low brightness uniformity, low color purity, poor color level performance, not environmentally friendly, large volume, high driving voltage, impact resistance (look at the figure so big light bulbs know that it is certainly not resistant to falling).
2.WLED backlight screen advantages and disadvantages
WLED full name White Light Emitting Diode (white diode), WLED as an alternative to CCFL backlight, there is not much technical improvement, the display backlight changed to use LED, will have power saving (compared to CCFL reduced by about 20% power), long life and impact resistance characteristics
(1). Side WLED backlight:
The side backlight needs to use the light guide plate (glue) to evenly distribute the LED light to the display area, so the concept of light leakage is also generated, when the quality of the light guide film (plate) is not good or the bonding problem between the structural layers, the light leakage will be very obvious.
(2). Bottom WLED backlight:
The bottom uniform distribution of LED modules is also a design method, this way of design looks more complex than the first, the entire backlight plate need to consider welding and wiring problems, the view of the edge, when the device is too dispersed, the stability of the negative impact. If the RGB LED will certainly also cause a delay in the response of the RGB LED.
WLED backlight screen Advantages:
Low driving voltage, long life, small size, light weight, good color level performance, more uniform brightness, more environmental protection, impact resistance.
WLED backlight screen disadvantages:
Brightness and contrast are relatively low (RGB leds).
3. RGB LED backlight screen advantages and disadvantages
Although RGB LED looks very similar to WLED, but its design requirements are higher, RGB LED is still the preferred backlight type for some high-end LCD displays, so the price is also a matter of course, RGB LED use three base tones and produce white backlight, in engineering, You have to take into account the color offset caused by changes in voltage and current, and you also need to take into account the impact of RBG LED after complete failure or partial failure, etc., compared with WLED, its production cost is high and complex (copycat is not counted).
RGB LED backlight screen advantages:
Small size, light weight, higher efficiency, better lumen maintenance, better brightness and contrast.
RGB LED backlight screen disadvantages:
High manufacturing costs, color dispersion, color offset and other phenomena, is the use of RGB LED unavoidable problems, no matter how the development of technology, RGB harmonic out of the white and WLED white will always be different. In addition, RGB LED backlights can also encounter response time issues.
