Ordering 38mm Pixel Lights for a Sign? Check the 18mm Hole First

If you are building an illuminated sign with visible RGB points, the LIKELIGHT L-D-386-24V may be worth considering. The product page lists a 38mm-wide light body and an 18mm panel hole. They are not the same measurement: 38mm is the outside width of the light; 18mm is the hole listed for the panel. Before cutting a full batch of sign panels, check the drawing and fit one sample in your actual panel.

Check the panel before ordering

Ask LIKELIGHT for the current drawing for the exact model in your quote. Compare it with your panel thickness and the space behind the sign. The sample should sit neatly on the front, fasten securely, and leave enough room for its wire and connector at the back.

If the sign uses many lights, mark their positions on your own full-size layout. The 38mm body needs room on the face, but the right spacing depends on your design. The product page mentions an 8cm “standard length”; it does not clearly say that this is the distance between lights. Ask what the 8cm refers to before using it in your layout.

Confirm the exact version

The product page lists DC24V, UCS1903 control, RGB LEDs and 1.44W per light. It gives two different LED counts: six in the title and specifications, but seven in the description. Ask the supplier to confirm which version is being quoted, and make sure the sample matches it before approving production.

The page also describes cable lengths in two different ways. Have the supplier show the cable and connector dimensions on the drawing so your installer can check the space behind the panel. If the sign will be outdoors, ask what the listed IP67 rating covers for the supplied light and connection; do not assume it applies to the whole sign.

For a first quote, send just four things: your sign-panel drawing or photo, panel thickness, approximate quantity and destination country. Ask for the drawing and one sample to check before the shop cuts every panel.
