50-Node 5V Pixel Strings: Calculate Coverage Before a Bulk Order

Real LIKELIGHT L-C2618-UCS1903 square RGB pixel node on a cable

If your display drawing calls for hundreds of individually changing RGB points, start by checking how one string covers the layout. LIKELIGHT lists its 26 × 18 mm square pixel string, model L-C2618-UCS1903, in a standard 50-point chain with 8 cm spacing. That is a useful starting size for a purchasing plan, but the drawing still needs to show where the first and last points sit, how the cable exits, and where power enters.

The L-C2618-UCS1903 product page shows the actual node and lists DC5V, 0.3 W per point, UCS1903 control and IP67 for the product. Its application gallery illustrates a possible decorative effect; it does not identify the exact model installed in the photograph.

What does a 50-point chain cover?

At 8 cm between adjacent point centres, there are 49 spaces from the first point to the fiftieth. 49 × 8 cm = 392 cm, or 3.92 m between those two centres. This is a layout calculation using the listed standard spacing, not the assembled cable length. An input lead, output lead, connector bodies and any end allowance extend beyond the measured point span; their dimensions must come from the order drawing.

Mark the desired points on the sign, canopy or decorative panel before converting metres into chains. A 4 m straight feature might appear to need one 50-point chain, but a corner, a gap without lights or a different first-point position changes the count. A layout with several separate lines needs a count for each line, not one total metre figure. If the standard 8 cm rhythm looks too sparse or dense at the intended viewing distance, ask LIKELIGHT whether the required length and spacing can be supplied before pricing the whole job.

Keep the physical layout and power plan separate

The page's 50-point pack does not state that all 50 points should be powered from only one end. At the published 0.3 W per point, 50 points total 15 W nominal, and 15 W ÷ 5 V gives 3 A theoretical current for comparison. These are simple rating-based figures, not an installed measurement or an approved feed distance. Cable size, wire length, connectors, colour program and brightness affect the real result.

Ask for a proposed feed and injection layout for the exact chain and test a representative full-length section at the brightness and effects your project needs. Power injection means adding a suitable power feed farther along a run so voltage at later points remains usable. Do not copy another supplier's injection interval into this LIKELIGHT product: the final cable and connector arrangement has to be checked on the ordered version. The data signal also needs the correct input end, direction and controller compatibility.

Decide how the strings will be installed and replaced

The 26 × 18 mm figure describes the listed node body, not a mounting-hole or track-cutout size. Request the current dimensional drawing and try a sample on the actual board or support. Note the fixing method, cable route, corners and space to remove one damaged section. The page lists IP67 for the light, but a field connector or cable junction needs its own suitable protection in an outdoor installation.

For a repeat purchase, record one approved point spacing, wire/connector specification, data direction and sample appearance. That helps replacement strings fit the same layout and controller later. The official product photograph is useful for recognising the node; approve the installed effect with a physical sample, not a gallery image.

Send LIKELIGHT a useful first brief

Share a marked layout or photo, the intended point spacing and approximate node quantity, where the strings will mount, and the destination country. If a controller is already chosen, name it. Ask LIKELIGHT to return the exact chain drawing with first/last-point positions, lead and connector details, a proposed 5V feed plan and a representative sample option. Review those items before you finalise a bulk quantity.
